Upcoming Market Sprouts Activities at the Market
Did you know that the market has a kids club? The Market Sprouts Kids Club mission is to inspire children (ages 4-12) to take part in their local food system, enjoy eating nutritious food and to empower them to make healthy choices. Each week there is a fun scavenger hunt clue (check in at the information booth!) and kids can earn prizes for participation and finding the clues.
Throughout the market season the Market Sprouts Kids Club hosts a variety of fun activities. Here are a few that are coming up:
September 13th: Rainbow of Produce
Get to know the huge variety of colors that is available in the market this week as you go on a hunt for a fruit/veggie of every color of the rainbow.
September 20th: Dirt Babies
Have fun creating and decorating your own grass seed Dirt Baby. In the process, the kids might learn a thing or two about germination and caring for young plants. Don’t forget to give your baby a haircut as its (grass) hair grows!
October 4th: All things Apple
Apple Tasting, Cider Pressing and all sorts of fun centered around this tasty fall treat!
